Elizabeth T. F. Gehring, PE, LEED AP - Principal Mechanical Engineer

Elizabeth Gehring is an architectural engineer focused on mechanical engineering. She has over 28 years of experience developing construction documents and specifications that implement integrated building design concepts. Ms. Gehring has special skills in HVAC and plumbing design with a strong broad base knowledge in fire protection, acoustics, illumination, day lighting, and electrical, civil, structural and architectural design. Ms. Gehring earned a Master of Science, Civil Engineering, Building Systems Program (HVAC) from the University of Colorado, and a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Environmental Systems Option (HVAC) from Pennsylvania State University. She has been President and Principal Engineer of Gehring & Associates, Architectural Engineers since 1996. Ms. Gehring is a Professional Engineer (PE), licensed in Colorado, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington, and a Legacy LEED accredited professional.

She is committed to sustainable design concepts and offers her ideas for public outreach. She has hosted at her home one of the largest attended BOSS (Building On-Site Seminars) through Colorado Green Building Guild (formerly BGBG). Her LEED registered home has several energy efficient sustainable concepts which achieved a low HERS rating of 45 without assisted solar, a testament of low use, low need for supplementation and offset.

 

Monica Thomas PE, LEED AP - Principal Electrical Engineer

Monica Thomas has over 28 years of experience developing construction documents and specifications which implement integrated building design concepts. Monica is an architectural engineer focused in electrical consulting engineering. She has special skills in illumination lighting, electrical, and daylighting design with additional background in fire protection, acoustics, plumbing, HVAC, civil, structural and architectural design. Her work experience encompasses the commercial and educational sector, with some time spent in healthcare. Monica has a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, Environmental Option, (electrical and HVAC). Monica is past president of her local Illuminating Engineering Society, having been a founding member of the Penn State Chapter in 1984, and is a member of the Electric League. She is a Professional Engineer licensed in three states and a Legacy LEED accredited professional.

 

Gary Buretz, PE - Electrical Project Coordinator

Gary Buretz Electrical Engineer

Gary Buretz is an electrical engineer now focused in electrical consulting engineering. He has spent over 35 years in the electrical field, with experience in everything from project design to maintenance and construction. His experience encompasses a broad base knowledge in power distribution, emergency generation, security systems, telephone and data systems, and nurse call systems. He has continued studies in cabling system design principles and short circuit and arc flash analysis. His work experience spans both industrial and commercial projects, and he has done much work in the educational sector, including the renovation and expansion of Pittsburgh Public Schools Cupples Stadium. Gary has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and Illuminating Engineering Society. Gary is a Professional Engineer licensed in six states.

Nancy Roberts - Mechanical Project Manager

Nancy Roberts HVAC/Plumbing Autocad Revit

Nancy Roberts has over 30 years in the HVAC/Plumbing profession. This includes 15 years experience with Autocad, Revit capabilities, proven customer service and interpersonal skills, and innovative and creative talent for problem solving. She has worked on numerous high profile public projects including , Denver Animal Shelter, Denver Crime Lab, Denver Detention Center, Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Golden High School, Wood River YMCA and the New Classic Residence by Hyatt-Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Highly motivated, organized, and able to take plumbing from Schematic Design through Construction Documents and Construction Administration, placing great emphasis on producing the highest quality design on time and within budget while using Revit as a design, model, drafting tool.
